While we are a social sorority, service is at the core of who we are. Jesus' disciples were His closest followers, friends, and support, and alongside them, Jesus showed that serving God and others is crucial to living our our Faith in God. Check out opportunities we engage in to serve neighbors.

We love supporting UWG! Whether that is co-hosting an event with another student organization, showing up to support an event hosted by the campus or student body, or finding ways to show our appreciation and love for our school.

COMMUNITY SERVICE
Carrollton is part of who we are almost as much as the UWG campus is! We want to support local charities, schools, and especially churches in the good work they are doing​. To encourage our members to participate in community service, we maintain a service member requirement.

PHILANTHROPY & FOUNDATION
The National Organization of Sigma Alpha Omega adopted Ovarian Cancer Awareness as the official philanthropy of our sisterhood. This disease is often difficult to detect early, which significantly impacts the likelihood of survival of the woman diagnosed. We participate in September (National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month) as well as other times during the year to promote this cause.

Additionally, our National Organization adopted an official charitable foundation, Sisters by Grace Foundation. This Foundation exists to give back to the sisters in a tangible way to help them achieve goals in scholarship, leadership, mission work, and more. Every year we participate in National Charitable Foundation Day to fundraise for this cause to help fellow sisters across the U.S. make their dreams come true!
